United States First Lady Michelle Obama, who is accompanying her husband Barack during his three-day visit to India, interacted with underprivileged children enrolled in the academic programme of Make A Difference, a NGO founded by two young social entrepreneurs who mobilise youth to serve as mentors and teachers for the less fortunate. Tanmay Arora, one of the co-founders of MAD, said, "She was extremely happy. She spoke about how an endeavour by the youth is important."

A group of youngsters recently organised a workshop in Mumbai with the aim of understanding partition without any preconceived notions. Ria Mirchandani, Zara Rustomji, Kunal Mehta, Niyati Mahimtura, Raghav Sawhney and Shawn Wadia sought to separate myth from reality and leave behind the prejudices attached to the traumatic period by organising such a workshop.The event was kickstarted by a skit where the students dressed up like various prominent leaders of that era.
